Anime
This section focueses on key episodes that revolve around Meowth in the Anime. Interestingly enough, the anime, Team Rocket's Meowth seems to have two different personalities from his Japanese version to the English dub. In the Dub he is more of a tough character with a New York accent whereas his Japanese counterpart is more intelligent with a high pitched, scratchy sounding voice. (A voice that, to me, sounds more cat-like). However, there are several other types of Meowth that appear in the anime. In Pokemon: The First Movie Team Rocket's Meowth was cloned, but his clone could neither talk nor stand on its back feet. Meowths are generally four-footed Pokemon but can learn how to stand on two feet, another example is Tyson's Meowth, which was dressed as Puss in Boots.
Meowth first appeared in Episode two with Team Rocket. In the anime, Meowth is seen in almost every episode and is shown as a villian, and sometimes disreguarding the fact that there are other Meowth's out there. Meowth's role in the anime is the brains behind the small extention of the Team Rocket organization and to earn Giovanni's (for lack of a better word) love. Meowth has also fought other Meowth's in the show, but has constantly failed (due probably to his lack of training and motivation). Team Rocket's Meowth is the ONLY Meowth to Speak human's language and to walk on two feet. At times, it seems that Meowth does not even know how to walk on all fours.
